“OpenCongress” as in not about Congress

The name confused me at first, but only because of blind US-centrism. “OpenCongress” is a site for researchers studying “how methodologies derived from Free/Libre and Open Source Software [FLOSS] production can be deployed by those working in the area of art, visual culture and cultural production in general.”

  1. There is another OpenCongress site, http://opencongress.org/, that is about the U.S. Congress, although it’s in search of funding to get finished. (And, shameless plug, it’s based on the data brought together by http://www.govtrack.us.)

    They are organising an event at the Tate in London in October. Lots of interesting people and groups will be there. I’ve bought a ticket already.
