quality of the media. Especially the ones that were
proposed to be added to music and videos.

If the watermarks could be made in such a way that
they didn’t degrade quality, I wouldn’t oppose them.

It should be possible. In fact, I believe someone
found a way to do this with JPEGs, but I can’t remember
the link off the top of my head.

There is a strong incentive for incumbent rent-seekers to dominate the distribution body, much as ASCAP is dominated by the major labels, and by songwriters at the expense of instrumental composers.

There is also an incentive to replace the watermark with one pointing to your own content, to get paid directly, or by one pointing to public domain content to reduce the overall pool of recipients.

Incentives are very important, and my mediAgora model makes sure that the incentives of those promoting the work by sharing it are aligned well with the creator, and that they are aligned with upstream promoters – whomever you buy the work through, you pay the same price, and get the same reward for any you sell.
