So we’ve just passed the half-way mark on the CC fundraising campaign, and I’ve cleaned out my inbox of people to thank for their contribution (too many $3.50 contributions, to which I’ve not been personally responding as I assume these are Flickr contest entries, and one $10k contribution this morning, to which I responded very well). So feel free to fill the inbox again.
Just as last year, we have a continuing obligation to demonstrate public support to the IRS. And also to me. So let this campaign invade the Christmas season. And fear not — we’ve not sold so many t-shirts that they won’t still be cool.
Give and give again.
Just wanted to let you know your blog posting inspired me to buy a T-shirt. least i could do. No extra thank you needed.

I love Creative Commons and would have loved to buy a T-shirt but sadly looks like they’re not made from organic cotton.
Why is this so important? http://tv.oneworld.net/article/view/126706/1/
I wish you all the best. I hope you sell many t-shirts 🙂
While I think that CC is a worthy cause to support, I think it absolutely ridiculous to support that argument by telling me that your are obligated by the IRS (i.e. the US government) to do this. Sorry, but if you need money for something worthy, tell us what the money is for and people will pay (or not). But if its only to make the IRS happy, incorporate your organization in a different country that doesn’t have ridiculous laws. This is not a good way of asking people for their money!
