I was surprised when a short video I took (no rights issues possibly involved) was taken down from Youtube, apparently because I put a Creative Commons non-commercial tag on it. I guess Youtube assumes distribution rights for whatever is uploaded there.

I have a feeling that at some point the entertainment industry is just going to 'Have it Out' in the supreme court in the USA regarding this issue, as most 'Major' video upload sites, like Youtube, Google Video, etc.. are in the USA. Once that happens, the other countries in the world will have an open playing field for investors to start up new services like those I just mentioned, so It's All good, one way or another.

Interesting enough, the audiovisual directive in europe in essence says that if you deliver video through a public web site, then you are kind of a television and cannot limit the right of the users to anything more narrow than the rights a tv user has.
I wonder if they're considering that their tos in europe are essentially wishful thinking...
