If the SCO lawsuit is brought down by the fact that they had unwittingly released the Linux kernel modifications by distributing their own Linux version, would that not be taken as a call to arms by Microsoft? Have they not been clamoring over this “virus-like” nature of the GPL for a long time. This would just be taken as a broad enough, for every ceo to understand, example that they can flaunt while scarring companies to stay away from the GPL in particular( and I’m sure they can make it seem as though all Open Source has the same problems to less knowledgable listeners).
