This is very cool functionality, building nicely on the free (culture) web.

Meta
Glad you liked it. I’m the guy at WashingtonPost.com who maintains our Congress Votes app and I set up the feeds from there to Apture. It’s been fun working with them to increase the public availability of this info.
Wow, Larry, this IS great. Thanks for the heads up!!!
this is very interesting. I like the use of technology in this way, the more transparent government is, the better for us all
I wonder if Obama is going to use this on change.gov or his whitehouse.gov site? Looks great.
i’d like him to put it on whitehouse.gov. It means so much to me that now we have someone that cares in the whitehouse. I feel everyone should know that!
I also enjoy the video although computers are for younger people. You cannot teach an old dog new tricks
I am working my way toward amateur status as a blogger, but I’ve already installed and started to use the apture plugin for WordPress. Very cool indeed.
Apture is an awesome piece of software. If there is such thing as the semantic web, it might be the first step in that direction. The “meta” approach can have so many implications for so many distinct areas that I feel we have only scratched the surface.
Hi, this is Can from Apture. Thank you for all the praise, and Peter, thanks for helping with the feeds. We really view this as a way of giving people the tools to help make government more transparent. More to come…. 🙂
Wow, this is fabulous, thank you to everyone who helped make this happen.
And may I please have Apture for colleges next?
🙂
The Sunlight Foundation used to have a widget called Popup Politicians that did this. Looks like it’s been discontinued, however.
I can’t agree more – Apture is a truly wonderful tool and it is difficult to say in normal words how exciting it makes the work of any web publisher – I have published recently a full review with lots of details and info about how it works. Please check it out here: http://tinyurl.com/6gcxbq
